A note from the founder:
I feel very lucky to have been born in this life and it's long been my goal to own a business that earns enough to give back to those less fortunate. So, I'm really happy to have made enough profit in 2022 (my first year in business!) to make a $1,000 donation to Women for Women International.
WfWI's "global community invests in women survivors of war and conflict, providing them with social and economic skills to transform their own lives. Women pass their knowledge to those around them, creating a more just world—a world where every woman’s voice, role, and contribution are visible and valued."
I've been personally giving to WfWI since 2002, when I first saw founder Zainab Salbi on Oprah. It's been a rewarding experience to see the transformation of women's lives across the globe. If you'd like to support women's personal, social, and economic well-being, I highly recommend making a donation to WfWI today.

Founder/CHIEF CREATIVE OFFICER
Launching Decibel was a no-brainer for Karen. She's been enamored with writing and marketing since she was a wee tot. In ninth grade, she designed her debut campaign for Tasty Bugs cereal—a meticulously branded extravaganza with a cockroach-embellished box, TV commercial, radio ad and print ad.
She's come a long way, with more than 20 years of broad experience creating PR, promotions, advertising, event and marketing campaigns for nightclubs and Dr. Martens footwear in Portland and at medical associations, a foundation, a museum and a public service program in San Francisco. (Plus sales in NYC and teaching English in Japan!)
One of her greatest delights was serving on a team that completely rebranded the American Academy of Ophthalmology and won a finalist award for rebrand/relaunch strategy of the year—competing with the likes of renowned agencies Saatchi, Mondelez International and Leo Burnett; and brands such as Iceland, FujiFilm and Oreo.
Karen holds a Master's of Business Administration degree, a bachelor's degree in English literature/professional writing, a Certified Trade Show (and events) Marketer certification, and a PR/Advertising/Marketing certificate from the American Medical Writers Association. Her MBA capstone was a comprehensive, strategic marketing plan for Gekkeikan Sake USA (Folsom, CA).
